KLM wanted to research whether it would be possible to create a paperless environment with the hangar where airplane maintenance was done.
Together with the mechanics we looked into their day-to-day (sometimes night-to-night) job and discovered the repetition of too many manual administrative tasks. The failure rate was high and the delays where unnecessary and something needed to happen. We build the application together with an Artificial Intelligence student and proofed that we could reduce the proces with more than 30%.
At the moment of truth, somewhere in a hangar at SchipHol we presented the App to the COO, managers and other relevant personnel of KLM. By we, I mean the mechanics that worked on this project. Proudfully they demonstrated the app to the COO, told him that this was what they needed and proved that it was possible to use augmented reality in a hangar environment.
What better joy then for the end-user to celebrate innovation and value
