How can we stimulate curiosity among children who are sitting for 8 hours or longer in the car, driving towards their summer holiday
That is a good starting point for a quest to use augmented reality to solve this problem. Together with Denksport we created a games where children could point their phone to the world around them and point of interests would appear that would teach them about their surroundings. We added some puzzles, in-app games and questions to it and the children could play for hours. The fun part was that the whole car could join in answering all the questions and therefor raise the score on the leaderboard.
We presented the game at their board of directors meeting but unfortunately they wanted to focus more on the different targetgroup of their company and this idea was in too early. We then pitched the idea to Pon Automobiel (Importer of VW in The Netherlands) and also KLM.
Basicaly, everybody loved it but nobody wanted to move ahead. Too soon, too early.
